I'm sorry to keep bothering everyone with posts this morning, but a
thought occurs to me: if we want to discuss this thread more, would it be
helpful to have some members from current or former "socialist" nations?
Surely, there have to be some individuals who are very familiar with Marx
and literature and debates on political economy from these nations. There
_must_, in other words, be qualified people (e.g. economists) who could
contribute not only to this thread but to many of the divergent topics
that we have been discussing.
I have often wondered why no listmember ever suggested inviting such a
person or persons ....
Is there nobody from the former USSR and/or the former DDR, the former
Czechoslovakia, the former Yugoslavia (note the multitude of "former"
nations!), Poland, Hungary, the People's Republic of China, Vietnam, Cuba
(Fidel?), etc. who should be asked to join the list?
I think that this is more of an option for us now than when we got started
since the use of e-mail is much more commonplace in many of these
countries now than when we started in 1995.
In solidarity, Jerry
