For a "pre-coffee" post, I think that Paul B.'s comments hit the target
with a bullseye. The first thing we must do is to give some more
thought about what we want to achieve and how we go about meeting the
goals that we identify.

The Oakley book that Paul referred to is:
-- Allen Oakley _The Making of Marx's Critical Theory: A Bibliographical
Analysis_, Routledge and Kegan Paul, 1983.

Regarding John's post concerning Marx's plans, I would say (tentatively)
that it would be a good idea to identify all of the plans and their
chronological order from the _Collected Works_, *especially* if someone
already has done this. Someone *must* have, don't you think? Let's see if
we can save ourselves some work by seeing if there is already a listing
of Marx's plans. Even if we decide not to spend huge amounts of time
reviewing Marx's plans, don't you think this would be something good to
have as a frame of reference?
