I mentioned this before, but I think that some of the problem comes from
the almost insurmoutable problem of beginning a presentation of an
analysis of such complexity. Suppose you were to trying to begin to explain
what Marx was trying to do to somebody who had not already studied Marx.
Where would you start?

The commodity offers a convenient entry point, but how would you go about
situating it in a network of totalities. Wouldn't you have to use some sort
of historical scaffolding to lay out the argument?
