At the present time, this shouldn't be a worry. To begin with, there's
ALBA (Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas), a regional trade association.
ThE US can't have an embargo against an ALBA member without expecting very
heavy retaliation by the rest of the customs' union. Even the US can't afford
to 'write off' most of the market in Latin America. Additionally, Venezuela
has trade deals with Russia, the PRC, Iran and other countries. This would
mitigate strongly against the possibility of a US embargo.
