At least in Sweden or Scandinavia "social-liberalism" is a known
concept. My guess that it is quite widespread political doctrine in the
tradition of John Stuart Mill. In Britain, the Liberal Democrats would
be considered a social-liberal party I think. It is also my
understanding of the base of the Democratic Party in the US.

It is "capitalism with a human face": legislation to alleviate poverty,
but do not threaten the power and wealth of the ruling classes.
