I don't disagree with your general approach, but sometimes extraordinary
situations demand extraordinary responses.  I.e. while agreeing with (most
of) what you say about how to deal with similar matters, one still has to
look at the individual situation and put it in context including asking
whether one is dealing with someone who has committed a single
objectionable action or demonstrated a pattern of egregious behavior.
I think that flexibility in responding to individual situations is
consistent with your opposition to ready-made formula which would be
applied in all situations.

Lynn Marcus was the (cult) leader in the 1970s of the National Caucus of
Labor Committees (NCLC).  Later, in the late 1970s, his politics shifted
to the right and he changed his pen name to Lyndon LaRouche. (I think
that Lynn Marcus might also have been a pseudonym.)
