Pardon a dispassionate view from the antipodes, but would you guys please
get a life?

You are expecting Jerry to behave rationally after he has received an
emotionally very disturbing email, by accident.

As it happens, I agree that the way he put that news about on OPE-L could
be interpreted as "entrapment"--but only by also ignoring how emotionally
disturbing it would have been to receive such a message, and then expecting
rationalist standards of behaviour from someone whose mind is in turmoil at
the time.

Every actor in this development has been highly emotional and
self-righteous, and I think we have probably all experienced the danger of
email (and for that matter, voice) when you can say something in the heat
of the moment and then regret it later.

I'll make a final plea for a rationalist standard after the heat of the
moment has died down. Does Marxism exist to give us novel ways to be
petulant, or does it exist as a means to analyse society? If the latter,
then get over this set of emotional outbursts.
